Roboform by Siber Systems is good stuff – I run it on all my machines so that I can have different, ridiculously long passwords at every site I log into.
Until 8.0.2 released, Roboform could sometimes (indirectly) cause Tableau to crash, however. Apparently, it leverages a framework (QT) that we use too – and because of a bug in QT, certain “monitored by Roboform” text-entry actions in Tableau could cause a crash in QT, which would bring us down, as well. Removing / disabling Roboform would make the problem go away, but I didn’t want to give it up.
QT was recently updated, and the fine folks in dev have included the newer “crash proof” version beginning in 8.0.2.
So, if you’re addicted to Roboform like I am, download the 8.0.2 update ASAP.
